Proximal Phalanges
The proximal bones of the digits.
These articulate with the metacarpals or metatarsals and the intermediate phalanges.

Distal Phalanges
The distal bones of the digits.
These articulate with the intermediate phalanges.
These articulate with the intermediate phalanges.
Metacarpals
The bones of the metacarpus, between the carpus (wrist) and the phalanges (fingers).
Metatarsals
The bones of the metatarsus, between the tarsus (ankle) and the phalanges (toes).
Intermediate Phalanges
Bones between the proximal phalanges and the distal phalanges.
