Gray Fox
(Urocyon cinereoargenteus)
One of only two canine species known to climb trees, the other being the raccoon dog of east Asia.
Climbing is facilitated by the gray fox’s strong, hooked and semi-retractile claws. They have been called tree dogs.
Paws are broad and cat-like.
