Breed
A variety of domestic dog or domestic cat with distinctive and uniform characteristics, as defined in a breed standard, and achieved by selective breeding.
Purebred
Domestic dog or domestic cat that is of a breed.
If purebred ancestry has been properly recorded and registered, the dog or cat is pedigreed.
If purebred ancestry has been properly recorded and registered, the dog or cat is pedigreed.
Mixed-breed
A pet that is not purebred. The ancestry of a mixed-breed is usually unknown, and the pet has characteristics of at least two breeds.
